![]() While the first season focused solely on the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose, season two introduces other magical societies, each operating within its own set of rules.Īrguably the most dangerous of the rival groups is Praxis. That, combined with Vera's revelation that magic makes werewolves angry ("You're only telling us this now?" asks an incredulous Gabrielle), sets the scene for a series that explosively explores who should – or should not – have access to magic. And her own home, for that matter: she's shown testing her spells on a series of unfortunate rats in her kitchen, subtly highlighting the dangerous ease with which magic can be brought into a domestic setting. Committing truly heinous acts – turning students into statues, embedding them in walls and setting them on fire from the inside out – it quickly becomes apparent that Ellie, the woman behind the crimes, has taken magic into her own hands. However there's not much time to dwell on that, as a magical serial killer is doing the rounds. But two episodes in, Alyssa has restored their memories and they're hungry for revenge. Hamish, Lilith and Randall are all in a similar boat, living seemingly normal lives and blissfully ignorant that acolytes from the Hermetic Order of the Blue Rose are controlling them with puffs of the memory-wiping powder in order to stifle their werewolf urges. ![]() ![]() ![]() Related: The Order season 3 - everything you need to know ![]()
